A variety of different recreational pursuits is not something everyone requires to enjoy the perfect tropical vacation. While some travelers would be happier staying at a resort offering numerous recreational activities, others would be perfectly happy with few or no recreational options, because they'd rather spend their time relaxing and exploring their surroundings. Although the hotel doesn't have a long menu of recreational offerings the Hotel el Consulado may have what everything you really care about.
Water and Fitness
Granted this hotel doesn't feature a swimming pool, this hasn't kept it from being popular. Not having a beach in its front or back yard, travelers staying here mainly take time to visit some of Puerto Rico's picturesque beaches.
Tennis
The hotel doesn't have tennis courts on site for guests to use, so tennis fanatics may want to check out some other options. Generally, this isn't a major concern to most guests, who find plenty of other activities to entertain them during their stay.
Masters Real Estate and Hyatt Hacienda Del Mar are excellent hotels for tennis that you may also want to consider. These hotels feature some of the greatest spots for tennis, so you may want to take a minute to consider these other options before making a final decision.
Golf
Although a golf course isn't one of the amenities, if the idea of playing a round of golf in a tropical setting is appealing, the hotel can help arrange for you to play golf at a local course. The nearest course is Fort Buchanan Golf Club, located 4.3 miles to the southwest of the Hotel el Consulado. This 3,030 yard course has been rated a par 36. To play at this course you can anticipate paying greens fees as follows: $13. To find out more information you can contact the course at (787)273-3852.
Watersports
Though you won't find watersports on site at this hotel, you can visit one of the vendors situated on the shores of Puerto Rico. By placing a few phone calls, you can arrange for a water-based activity with one of these local providers.
Family Activities
Feel free to bring the entire family to the Hotel el Consulado, but you should know that this hotel doesn't provide many amenities for families traveling with children. Considering the relative dearth of family amenities at this hotel, guests who are traveling with children should think carefully about their priorities and evaluate some other options before making a final decision. Toward that end, you should also consider one of the hotels that is top-rated for family vacations.
Entertainment and Nightlife
Travelers who are seeking a vacation experience jam-packed with live entertainment and night life may not be happy at this hotel. Bear in mind this area is better known for peace and quiet and the hotel doesn't offer live entertainment. Needless to say, if that isn't a grave concern the Hotel el Consulado may be just right. The hotel doesn't even have a bar or nightclub, so your nights will probably be rather quiet. If you want a change of scenery, consider visiting another hotel in the area as listed in the following chart:
