With over 20 usable airports in Puerto Rico, air travel is a viable transportation option for vacationers who want to quickly reach their tropical destination. A number of air carriers provide services from San Juan to places such as Culebra, Fajardo, and Ponce.
Aeropuerto Internacional Luis Muñoz Marín is the primary international airport in Puerto Rico, as well as the Caribbean hub for American Airlines and American Eagle. Most vacationers coming to Puerto Rico will fly into this airport. While car and ferries also provide transportation in and around the country, short flights can help to reduce travel time.

Many Caribbean travelers use American Eagle by American Airlines via San Juan to travel to a number of destinations in the region.
